The Candle In The Skull by Basil Copper

Martin, a husband and fathers attempts to dispose of his wife’s body but all does not go according to plan. But it does give his daughter a macabre treat for Halloween.

Two strands that run in this story, the presence of the strange daughter, and the revelation of the murder of her mother, are wonderfully woven together. Following the fathers death, the perspective is switched from the murderer in the third person, to that of the victim for the conclusion which adds much to the ending. Will Kathy get her wish for Halloween? And what is her future?
