White Fang by Jack London

White Fang is a companion and continuation of Jack London’s Call of the Wild (1903). It is the tale of a dog born in the wild and man’s attempt to civilize him.

The story is set in the Yukon Territory and Northwest Territories, Canada, during the 1890s Klondike Gold Rush.

The story is written from the viewpoint of White Fang, the wolfdog character, which enables us to explore how animals view their world and the world of humans. White Fang examines the violent world of wild animals and the equally violent world of man. The book explores more complex themes including morality and redemption.
